CONDITION HUMIDOR PRIOR TO USE Place the humidification unit (activated) or a small cup of distilled water in the humidor, leave closed for 24-48 hours to allow the wood to absorb moisture.  Place humidifier in desired location and fill with cigars, for best overall results do not place the humidor in sunlight or near heat sources. HUMIDIFIER DIRECTIONS The purpose of the humidifier unit is to keep the interior of the humidor at a constant relative humidity level of approximately 70%.  The unit contains bi-directional beads that are designed to discharge moisture when the humidity level is too low and absorb excess moisture when too high.  This will help ensure that your cigars will be in optimal condition for you to enjoy. Soak the unit in water (distilled water or Glycol solution is recommended).  The beads will enlarge in size as they absorb the water.  Allow the beads to reach their maximum size (+/- 30 minutes) and drain all excess water from the unit.  The unit is ready for use in the humidor.  Over time the beads will discharge their moisture and shrink.  The humidity will drop.  Repeat the previous instructions. For the most accurate humidity reading, do not place the humidifier unit next to the hygrometer inside the humidor. HYGROMETER The digital hygrometer is designed to record the active relative humidity and temperature levels inside the humidor.  The unit will start functioning automatically when the small plastic tab has been pulled out thus activating the battery.  See the enclosed instructions for battery replacement.  Once again, for best overall results do not place the humidor in sunlight or near heat sources. LED LIGHTING SYSTEM (Certain Humidors Only) Certain Tommy Bahama Cigar Humidors are equipped with internal LED (light-emitting diode) lighting. This is the first lighted consumer humidor in the world. The following is a quick tutorial on the LED lighting.  The lighting is activated automatically when you open the lid.  The lighting mechanism utilizes a small bead that drops into place to activate the lights.  It is very sensitive and will flicker with the motion of the lid.  Once the lid is stationary in the open position the bead will drop and settle in the contact position.  Any flickering should dissipate.  The system is driven by three AA batteries.  The entire apparatus is located on the back side of the black frame located on the inside of the lid.  The frame is held in place with a clip in each corner. To replace the batteries, remove the frame from the inside of the lid by carefully placing your fingers up under the top of the frame.  You will find an opening since this is where the light illuminates down from.  Gently pull out from the top and then the bottom.  Install the batteries, put the frame in place and gently push each corner back into place.  The batteries should last for years as the draw from the LED’s is minimal. ADDITIONAL POINTS TO CONSIDER The relative humidity level will change once cigars are placed inside the humidor.  Depending on the condition of the cigars (maintained or dry), it may take some time for the desired humidity level to be achieved within the humidor.  Additional factors such as the external climate, internal home climate
